DRX 2-7A Ethics
Quaker Community Pharmacy has a process that considers, discusses and resolves conflicts and ethical issues arising with clients/patients, caregivers, staff, physicians and referral sources.
Quaker Community Pharmacy identify ethical issues and educate its staff members about available ethical aspects of care or service.
At orientation, annually and as needed, Quaker Community Pharmacy staff members are to be informed of the process for resolving ethical issues, including but not limited to:
As ethical issues are identified, staff members must include the client/patient and caregiver(s), physicians and other members of the health care team for input, support and resolution.
A summary of any ethical issues and actions will be presented to the Board of Directors and management team of Quaker Community Pharmacy at least quarterly.
Quaker Community Pharmacy shall maintain a written Code of Ethics. The Code of Ethics shall be posted in an area easily seen by the general public and the employees of the Company.
All employees of the Company shall adhere to the Code of Ethics. Each employee will receive a copy of the Code of Ethics at orientation and be required to read and understand the document. Each employee shall be required to attend an annual in-service presented by the Company on ethical issues.
Code of Ethics
The policy of QUAKER COMMUNITY PHARMACY is to report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation or death due to maltreatment of any patient receiving our services. Any abuse to a client must be re- ported within 5 business days to the Compliance Officer, this also includes any suspected abuse to the client. All Company personnel will receive ongoing in-service education concerning the reporting of suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation or death due to maltreatment of any patient. The Compliance Officer is required to report suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of patients to the local and state agency responsible for receiving such concerns.
